Please note: Only available from April. A British afternoon tea classic.  Battenberg is a traditional chequered sponge cake flavored with ground almonds, sandwiched with apricot jam and enrobed in almond marzipan. An impressive Summer cake for any occasion.

Ingredients

Free-range eggs, apricot jam, almonds (nuts), sugar, sunflower spread (contains sunflower & vegetable oils, salt, vitamins, natural flavour & natural colour), gluten free self-raising flour blend (rice, potato, tapioca, maize, buckwheat), gluten free baking powder, xanthan gum, red food colouring, marzipan: sugar, almonds (nuts), water, invert sugar syrup, glucose syrup, humectant: sorbitol syrup, ethanol.  Natural almond extract: water, ethanol, natural bitter almond oil (nuts).
