The Free From Bakehouse is an independent artisan producer specialising in gluten free & wheat free baked treats. Handmade & decorated daily by a small team of skilled bakers in a dedicated gluten & wheat free bakery, about three-quarters are now also suitable for vegans, and those avoiding egg or dairy and an increasing number are sugar free (using natural sugar replacements). All bakes are made to order and hand-crafted in small batches using premium ingredients and where practical, fresh seasonal produce.
Trading at some of London’s best food markets, and Borough Market on a weekly basis, as well as supplying cakes to private customers, we offer a wide range online and at our markets. The range covers whole cakes, tray bakes, individual bakes, crackers and breakfast cereals, crammed full of the most delicious, all-natural ingredients.
In addition, we supply wholesale to several independent cafes, delis, and specialist food shops throughout London. With many years wholesale experience, you are guaranteed a fast and reliable friendly service, and cakes your customers will be pleasantly surprised by and will want again.
The owner, having come from an Irish family where baking with Mum on Saturdays was an enjoyable event, found herself several years later, with a change in her corporate work life. Caroline then established the business in 2009 from her home, having discovered the range of gluten free offerings back then was limited. Within a couple of years, the business had developed enough to move to its bakery location in Battersea, Southwest London where further expansion and growth followed, along with many awards from The Free From Food Awards and Great Taste Awards organisations.
